PAULETTE ARETTA (WILMOTH) CARPENTER LONG

Paulette Aretta Wilmoth Carpenter Long of Gassaway went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 1, 2017. Paulette was born August 25, 1946 in Rosemont WV. She is preceded in death by her parents Louis Paul Wilmoth and Ruth Violet Campbell Wilmoth and by her first husband Denzil “Gene” Carpenter.

Paulette is survived by her husband, Waldron “Spratt” Long of Gassaway. She is also survived by her children Denzil and Rhonda Carpenter of Gassaway, Michael and Paula Carpenter of Sutton, and Marsha Cochran and John of Gassaway. She will be sadly missed by her brothers and sisters, Paul Wilmoth, Flo McNemar, Jackie Adams (Denny), Luwana (Rankin) Nicholas, Monica Guzzi, Roger “Butch” (Terri) Wilmoth, Marlene (Jeff) Pumphrey and Randy Wilmoth. Paulette had six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She will also be missed by her brothers and sisters-in-law Larry (Lulu) Long, Jerry (Brenda) Long, Marion Long, Irene “Sissy” Long and Charity Sue Bryant.

Paulette’s heart was always with her family and she loved the time spent with them during family reunions. She enjoyed having everyone at her home for dinners at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas and spent weeks planning for the holidays. Paulette worked in the kitchen at Braxton County Memorial Hospital for many years. She loved to cook and bake special treats for her friends and loved ones and was famous for her homemade pepperoni rolls. She attended First Southern Baptist Church and loved her church family and all the special events hosted by the church.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV 26621 from 2-4 p.m. Funeral Services will follow visitation at 4:00 p.m. at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Shane Boggs officiating. Following Funeral Services and her wishes Paulette Aretta Wilmoth Carpenter Long body will be cremated. Interment will be held at a later date and will be private. Paulette has requested that memorial donations in her memory be made to First Southern Baptist Church PO Box 601 Sutton WV 26601.
