Obituary for Delis “Gene” Eugene Blake
Delis Eugene Blake (Gene) 87, of Gassaway passed away November 12th 2022. He was born In Burnsville on July 22, 1935.
Gene is preceded in death by his father, Roy Blake Sr. and mother, Letha McCauley Blake and six siblings.
Gene was a self employed religious man who loved to travel, especially in the winter time to Florida. He served in the Army with the 82nd Airborne Division.
Gene is survived by his wife of 23 years, Linda May. He has four daughters, Beatrice Webb, Barbara Reed (David), Sandra Sponaugle (Tedd), and Shirley Blake. Stepchildren, Kenneth Daniel Bush (Karen), Linda Lou Bush-Ellyson (Gary), and Rosa Lee Johnson (Jamie). Gene has several grandchildren and step-grandchildren. He also has several great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren as well as great-great-grandchildren.
Per his wishes, he wanted to be cremated with no funeral service. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
