Obituary for Cory Lee Huffman

Cory Lee Huffman, born on February 6th, 1990, of Burnsville, West Virginia, has departed this Earth on Friday, January 26th, 2024. Through his recent battle with health issues, everyone around him has never heard a complaint. He leaves behind a lasting impression on those who called him son, grandson, nephew, cousin, or friend. His compassionate heart lit up any room he was in, always making everyone around him laugh with his never-ending jokes. Being only 33, he enjoyed spending his years surrounded by family and friends, playing his guitar as a rock music fan, and never missing a good home cooked meal. Growing up, he spent a lot of his time fixing equipment with his dad and grandpa, and always took the opportunity for a four-wheeler ride on the farm. Anytime there was any need for help on a family project, Cory was always there to lend a helping hand expecting nothing in return. During any situation, regardless of the work, Cory was always able to make the work more enjoyable by his presence alone.

He was a 2008 graduate of Braxton County High School. Following his graduation, he worked a few different jobs, his current employment being at Doss Enterprises of Jane Lew. He loved this job and enjoyed the company from his coworkers.

Left to cherish his memory is his father, Charles (Rick) Huffman (Melinda Martin) of Burnsville, West Virginia, and his mother, Pam Blake of Clarksburg, West Virginia. He is survived by his paternal grandparents, Chester and Betty Huffman of Heaters, West Virginia, and his maternal grandmother, Kaye King of Clarksburg, West Virginia. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather John (Bud) Dancy of Burnsville, West Virginia, and paternal uncle Roy Dale Brown. Alongside his grandparents and uncle, he is survived by aunts, uncles, and many cousins who thought so much of him.

Cory’s optimism and fun-loving heart made him a joy to be around for anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Although gone too soon, we were lucky to spend almost 34 years knowing him. “What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love becomes a part of us.” Rest in peace.
